Company A/B

Company A/B is a comprehensive class that welcomes dancers at varying levels—from those building foundational technique to those seeking a more conceptual, advanced approach. Through a blend of technical exercises and creative exploration, this class focuses on strengthening coordination, body awareness, and performance finesse while exposing dancers to a wide range of styles. This year, Company A/B will perform a contemporary lyrical dance choreographed by our very own Miss Jessica, showcasing artistry, emotion, and strong technical growth. Company A/B will also be featured at the CA Dance Festival 2026 hosted by the California Dance Education Association in January—an exciting opportunity to represent our program and share their hard work on a larger stage.

What to Expect

  1. Foundational Technique & Body Awareness

    • Develop strong alignment and control through exercises that build coordination and proper form.

    • Explore jazz styles like Fosse, modern dance, Broadway, and contemporary, learning each style’s origins and pioneers.

  2. Conceptual Choreography & Advanced Skills

    • Tackle more challenging sequences, focusing on finesse, rhythm, and storytelling.

    • Learn how to build choreography around a narrative or concept, honing artistry and creativity.

  3. Diverse Style Exploration
Dancers explore contemporary styles and the emotional depth of movement, discovering how dance evolves and where it lives today. Through the use of lifts, levels, and dynamic formation changes, students expand their versatility while experimenting with new textures, musicality, and expressive qualities—broadening both their technical range and artistic voice.

Company A/B supports growth at every stage—whether you’re mastering the basics or refining advanced skills. By combining technical training with conceptual choreography, this class offers dancers the opportunity to expand their repertoire, enrich their performance quality, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the art of dance.
